Suu Kyi should apologise unconditionally
Myanmar's de facto leader Aung San Suu Kyi and her civilian administration have been a silent accomplice in what has been described as a “textbook example of ethnic cleansing” against the country's Rohingya minority. Suu Kyi has not only failed to stand up against the systematic killings of Rohingyas by the military, she also defended it.
Recently, the disgraced former democracy icon has admitted to having “mishandled” the Rohingya crisis, which is nowhere near enough. I think she should apologise unconditionally for her government's role in the crisis, grant all Rohingyas citizenship rights, and cooperate with the international agencies to pave the way for ensuring justice.
