After 36 days of relentless protest, Bangladesh brought an end to fifteen years of autocratic rule. On August 5, Sheikh Hasina fled the country in the face of a student-led mass uprising.

The festival was originally scheduled to take place last month to mark the 127th birth anniversary of National Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam but was postponed due to unavoidable circumstances.

“Adam Surat” explores injustice, neglect and the untold stories of marginalised people. The production draws on incidents and moments from people’s lives that often remain hidden from public view or fail to receive justice even when they come to light.

Anandadhara Arts presented its acclaimed production, “Deshantor – Across the Border,” at the Redbridge Methodist Church Auditorium in London on Saturday (July 18), offering audiences an inspiring and emotionally powerful exploration of migration, identity and humanity.

Goswami, born in Netrakona in 1981, is a Bangladeshi visual artist, educator, curator and researcher. He studied drawing and painting at the Faculty of Fine Art, University of Dhaka, before completing a master’s degree in painting at Kala Bhavana, Visva-Bharati University in Santiniketan.

Even so, a gentle monsoon turns nature into a work of art, inspiring countless artists. “Rainscape” is an exhibition dedicated to that artistic expression.

After participating in several group exhibitions throughout his student life and career, he has decided to exhibit his life’s versatile artistic work in his first solo art show.

The Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy will organise a day-long artists’ conference on July 12 as part of preparations for the year-long “Nazrul Year 2026–2027” celebrations.

Bangladeshi-American storyteller, novelist, and screenwriter Sharbari Ahmed has little interest in familiar, formulaic narratives. Instead, she is drawn to stories that exist at the margins—stories that reveal themselves quietly, carrying all the complexity and contradictions of real life.

On July 4, 2026, Gallery Chitrak inaugurated the third solo exhibition by artist Shamsul Alam Azad, titled “Visible Structure”, showcasing his evocative abstract paintings. The opening ceremony was attended by eminent artist Professor Emeritus Rafiqun Nabi as the chief guest and freedom fighter and poet Shamsuddoha Milan, the artist’s brother, as the special guest.
