- Indian Foreign Minister Sharan Sing calls upon the Pakistan government not to take any step against Bangabandhu Sehikh Mujibur Rahman, saying that “Sheikh Mujibur Rahman is the leader of elected representatives by seven and a half crore people. He is the legendary leader of Bangladesh and its president. There is not right of any county to try the president and chief of the government of another country.”
- 13 Pakistan soldiers are killed and 10 others injured when the freedom fighters attack the Yakubpur, Chandrapur and Obagabari camps at 9:00am.
- A team of Muktibahini ambushes a patrolling vehicle of Pakistan soldiers in Rajshahi town killing four soldiers.
- Seven non-Bengali policemen are killed when a team of Muktijoddha led by Major Giasuddin Chowdhury raided Lalpur Police Station.
