JS goes into session Jan 19
The 10th parliament is going into its fifth session on January 19, 2015.
The House is set to start at 4:00pm on Monday (January 19) for the first in the New Year.
On December 31, President Abdul Hamid summoned the parliament session exercising his power bestowed upon him by article 72 (1) of the Constitution, states a Parliament Secretariat press release today.
The 10th parliament went into its maiden session on January 29 while the second one (budget session) started on June 3, third one on September 1 and fourth one on November 13.
According to the constitution, the President must convene a session within 60 days of the last sitting of the last session and the first sitting of the next session.
The BNP, which was either in the treasury or in the opposition bench between 1991 and 2013, does not have any participation in 10th parliament as the party-led alliance and most other political parties boycotted the January 5 one-sided elections.
