- Pakistan People’s Party Chairman ZA Bhutto, speaking at a press conference in Hotel Intercontinental, says he and his party will try their best to formulate a permanent solution to an acceptable governance policy in line with national unity. He says his Dhaka visit is to find out the areas of the unity and inquire about the general issues, and revive the bond of brotherhood, understanding and coordination.
- Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and ZA Bhutto went on a boat trip on ML Nabik for five hours. Dependable sources present during this time says the two leaders, accompanied by a 70-member entourage, split from the others and went on a cruise alone together after a short while. The two held talks for over two hours. Though others are in the dark regarding the agenda of the discussion, leaders opined that the talks must have started on the trails of the discussions of previous three days. Awami League’s Syed Nazrul Islam, Khandakar Mostaq, AHM Kamruzzaman, Mizanur Rahman, Abdul Momin, Nurjahan Morshed, Badrunnesa Ahmad, Sajeda Chwodhury, Gazi Golam Mostafa, Mostafa Sarwr are among those preset, reports APP. From on behalf of PPP, ZA Rahim, Pirzada Abdul Hafiz, Hanif Rame, Sheikh Rashid, Rafiq Raza and Major General Thacker and others are present. PPP sources say Dr Mobashher Hassan is not present because he left Dhaka for Lahore yesterday.
- Public leader Moni Singh wired a message from Rajshahi jail voicing satisfaction on the release of Habibur Rahman and congratulated him. Notably, after the second-time martial law is enforced, Moni Singh and Habibur Rahman are arrested under security act.
