- Primary talks between Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and ZA Bhutto ended in Dhaka. They discussed several national issues including the governing policy. The duo could not reach unity in the discussion, however, they both opined for further talks. Bhutto will discuss Awami League’s views with his party. He will attend a press conference before leaving Dhaka and it is being heard that he will hint on his discussions with Bangabandhu at the presser.
- Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman advises President Yahya Khan to begin National Council sessions from February 15, reports APP. After ending the third phase of talks with Bhutto, he tells journalists that he tells Bhutto that the sessions needed to be commenced immediately to accelerate the formation of a civilian government.
- Bhutto, during his visit to cyclone-hit areas, says some people are creating obstacles on the path towards implementation of governance policy and empowering the public representatives. People’s Party leader Dr Mobashhir Ali reveals this to reporters after completing his visit to the affected areas with Bhutto.
- At a mass rally held in Chittagong’s Laldighi, Mawlana Abdul Hamid Khan Bhasani says the people of Bangla will surely establish a free and sovereign East Pakistan and for that the people will not hesitate to even prepare for the highest of sacrifices. He says only socialism could better the fate of the people and if anyone is to claim power without the route of socialism that will not change the fate of Bangla’s farmers and workers.
