Well-known Indian composer R. D. Burman's father S. D. Burman nicknamed him Pancham because as a child, Rahul used to cry in all five notes. Undoubtedly, R. D. understood music to the core and gave Indian Cinema some of the best, unforgettable melodies. R. D. Burman's fans, admirers and his colleagues in the industry address him as Pancham da. From the 1960s to the 1990s, he composed musical scores for 331 movies and provided vocals for a few of those compositions.
