Indian cattle trader shot dead by BSF
An Indian cattle trader was shot dead and another injured by members of Indian Border Security Force (BSF) on Bamonpara border in Sapahar upazila early yesterday.
Both the deceased, whose identity could not be confirmed yet, and the injured hail form Dakshin Dinajpur of India.
Lieutenant Colonel Rafiqul Islam of Naogaon BGB 46 Battalion said a BSF patrol team opened fire on a group of Indian cattle traders while entering Bangladesh with cattle from India through Bamonpara border point at about 5:30am, leaving one of them dead on the spot and another, identified as Zillur, injured.
BGB members later arrested Zillur for entering Bangladesh territory without any valid documents.
