Covid-19 booster dose trial run from Sunday: health minister
Health and Family Welfare Minister Zahid Maleque said the Covid-19 experimental booster dose would be administered from Sunday.
"We have so far administered eleven crore doses of vaccines. Of this, seven crore were first dose and 4.5 crore were second dose. Besides, we also have five crore doses in our stock. We are in the process of developing the Covid-19 vaccine app for the protection of vaccines," he said.
He said this while addressing a Pitha-Puli festival and cultural programme as chief guest at Garpara Shuvro Center of Manikganj Sadar Upazila this evening, reports our local correspondent.
"All activities related to booster doses are ongoing. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has given permission for a booster dose. The activities to update the Surokkha App are also continuing. We are preparing a list for the dose," he said.
Mentioning that there is no scarcity of vaccines in the country, the minister said the country has seven lakh Pfizer vaccines in its stock and two crore vaccines will arrive in the country next month.
