Covid-19: 11 deaths recorded in a day, positivity rate now 2.58%
Eleven people died from Covid-19 in the 24 hours preceding 8am today, said a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The total number of Covid-19 deaths in the country now stands at 27,699 and the death rate stands at 1.77 percent.
A total of 23,193 samples were tested across the country and at least 599 new infections were recorded in this period, taking the total number of people infected to 1,562,958, added the release.
The current positivity rate is 2.58 percent while the overall positivity rate stands at 15.67 percent.
At least 634 Covid-19 patients have recovered during this period. The total number of recoveries now stands at 1,524,467 and the recovery rate is 97.53 percent.
Among the 11 deceased, two were men and nine were women.
Of them, one was between 21-30 years old, three between 41-50, three between 51-60, two between 61-70, one between 71-80 and one between 91-100 years old, added the release.
