7 Covid-19 deaths recorded, current positivity rate 1.32%

Seven people died from Covid-19 in 24 hours till 8am today, said a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The total number of Covid-19 deaths in the country now stands at 27,887 and the death rate stands at 1.78 percent.

At least 247 new infections were recorded during the period, taking the total number of people infected to 15,70,485, added the release.

The current positivity rate is 1.32 percent while the total positivity rate stands at 15.06 percent.

A total of 18,690 samples were tested across the country in the 24 hours.

At least 227 Covid-19 patients have recovered during the period. The total number of recoveries now stands at 15,34,300 and the recovery rate at 97.70 percent.

Among the seven deceased, four were men and three were women.

Of them, one was between 31-40 years old, two between 51-60 and three between 61-70, and one between 71-80 years old years old, added the release.
