Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina skipped the retreat session of the 18th Saarc Summit in Dhulikhel of Nepal this morning as she caught cold.
Though she (Hasina) has skipped the session, she will join the concluding session of the summit in Kathmandu at 4:00pm (local time), said Iqbal Sobhan Chowdhury, media adviser to the prime minister.
“She (Hasina) was scheduled to fly for Dhulikhel to join the other Saarc leaders at the retreat session at Dawrika Resort at 8:00am. But she has decided not to attend the session as she caught cold badly at Kathmandu,” Choudhury added.
Sheikh Hasina along with other Saarc leaders will also join the meeting with Nepalese President Ram Baran Yadav at the president’s Bhaban around 6:30pm (local time).
She also will have dinner with the leaders there at night.
The prime minister is scheduled to return home by a VIP flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines at 10:30am tomorrow.
Yesterday, the premier addressed the inaugural session of the two-day summit.
Sheikh Hasina along with 63-member power-packed delegation, including Foreign Minister AH Mahmood Ali and top bureaucrats, reached Kathmandu on Tuesday afternoon.
