Govt to be forced to hold polls: Khaleda
BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia today said the BNP-led 20-party alliance would force the Sheikh Hasina government to hold a fresh national election under a non-party administration through massive movement after Eid.
The BNP chief said this at an Iftar programme at a city hotel.
National Democratic Party, a component in the 20-party alliance, organised the programme in honour of politicians.
In her brief speech, Khaleda, also chief of the alliance, said people are ready to wage movement against the government as they have expressed their no confidence in the Hasina administration by rejecting the January 5 polls.
“People did not go to election centres to cast their votes in the January 5 polls and thus they rejected the present government,” Khaleda said urging all to get united and participate in the opposition’s movement after Eid.
Senior leaders of BNP and the other components in the opposition alliance were present in the programme.
