Python rescued from Mongla, released in Sundarbans
A python was released in the Sundarbans after it was rescued from a locality adjacent to the forest in Mongla upazila of Bagerhat today (August 21, 2022).
It was 11-foot in length and weighed around 20kg, our Bagerhat correspondent reports quoting Howladar Azad Kabir, officer-in-charge of the Karamjal Wildlife Breeding Centre.
Howladar said locals caught the python with a net from the house of Sohag Sheikh in the Ulukata area of Chila Union adjacent to the Sundarbans this morning. On information, they rescued it and released it in the Sundarbans.
The python entered the locality adjacent to the forest in search of food, he added.
