Over the course of her long career, the Sulochana Latkar has won multiple awards, including the Padma Shri award and Maharashtra Bhushan award. She also received the Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award and the Filmfare award Marathi last year.

 

Veteran Indian actor Sulochana Latkar passed away yesterday at the Shushrusha hospital in Dadar, India. According to media outlets, the late 94-year-old artiste was suffering from respiratory complications, as well as several other illnesses due to old age for quite some time now.

The veteran actor made a name for herself in Hindi and Marathi films, started her career back in 1940s as a child artiste and has acted in over 260 films. Her most well-known works include, "Sasurvas" (1946), "Vahinichya Bangdya" (1953), "Dhakti Jau" (1958), "Sujata" (1967), "Johny Mera Naam" (1969), "Kati Patang" (1970), and "Azaad" (1978) amongst others.

Solochana had become quite famed during the 1960s to 70s, as the actor was seen essaying the mothers' roles for prominent heroes and heroines of that time. Over the course of her long career, the actor has won multiple awards, including the Padma Shri award and Maharashtra Bhushan award. She also received the Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award and the Filmfare award Marathi last year.
