Varun Dhawan diagnosed with rare condition
After Samantha Ruth Prabhu disclosed her struggle with myositis, Bollywood actor Varun Dhawan also opened up to share that he had been diagnosed with vestibular hypofunction—a condition which disrupts the balance of an individual.
During a promotional interview with India Today, for his upcoming movie "Bediya", the actor broke down while recollecting his struggles with the condition.
Varun revealed that after being diagnosed with vestibular hypofunction, he was forced to take a hiatus from acting. The actor went on to share how his life had been altered by the condition and how he pushed himself considerably harder for his film "JugJugg Jeeyo"—which was shot before he received his diagnosis.
"I don't know why, but I put a lot of pressure on myself. Only recently, I stopped doing this. I had no idea why I kept losing my balance. Later on, I would be diagnosed with vestibular hypofunction."
Vestibular hypofunction occurs when the inner-ear—which handles one's balance—is dysfunctional. Our inner-ear contains the vestibular system, which collaborates with our eyes and muscles to keep us balanced. When it malfunctions, it causes a person to feel uneasy or lightheaded.
Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon will soon be seen in Amar Kaushik' s "Bhediya". The film is slated for release in theatres on November 25.
