DOTS:<br> Waste your minutes one at a time
Game Review
Platforms: Android, iOS
Price: Free

Dots: A Game About Connecting is a minimalistic game set in the apocalyptic future where the only way human beings survive and pass onto the next phase is to avoid the zombie horde by tagging together according to the colour of their t-shirts. There's a 60 second timer that indicates the remaining time for the next zombie invasion.
I'm kidding. It's a game where you just connect Dots under 60 seconds (Timed mode) or 30 moves (Moves Mode) and achieve the highest score. You can connect boxes to tag all the dots and score more points. There are three power-ups: Time Stops—to stop the time for 5 seconds or add 5 moves; Shrinkers—to get rid of a dot; Expanders—to get rid of all the dots of the specified colour.
There's a leaderboard that connects with your Facebook and Twitter so you can flaunt your Dots skills (my highest is 612, noobs) to your friends and have them ignore you forever. An in-game currency is used to buy power-ups. The currency bank is merely an accumulation of your scores, so it's not a drawback in any way like the Zynga games where you HAVE to use real money. The paid version of the app does indeed give you Endless mode where there are no restrictions but overall, you wouldn't notice that this game is holding you back at any point.
Verdict: I've been playing Dots for the past 7 months and it's the perfect time waster in between text message/WhatsApp conversations.
