Deprived JCD men padlock Dhaka office
Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal leaders and activists, who were deprived of any post in the newly formed central committee, padlocked the party’s office in Dhaka since this morning, demanding immediate dissolution of the body.
Around 200 leaders and activists gathered in front of the JCD office housed on the fourth floor of BNP’s central office building in the morning.
Around 11:00am, they padlocked the office and continued demonstration for three and a half hours.
However, the office remained under key and locked till 4:20pm when the report was filed.
On October 14, BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia approved a 201-member partial committee of the party’s student wing JCD with Rajib Ahsan as president and Akramul Hasan the general secretary, triggering demonstration by the deprived leaders and activists.
A day into the formation of the committee, the JCD activists, who did not get any post, staged protests and blasted cocktails in front of BNP’s Nayapaltan and Khaleda’s Gulshan offices.
They will continue their demonstration until Khaleda takes any measure to fulfill their demand, JCD men told our correspondent today.
Additional policemen have been posted in front of the BNP Nayapaltan office to avoid any untoward situation.
