Rangamati brushfire victim dies

One person injured during the incident of brushfire in Rangamati’s Baghaichhari during upazila election day has died in Dhaka.

The deceased was identified as Niru Bikash Chakma, an office assistant of Baghaichari High School, our local correspondent reports.

MA Manzur, officer-in-charge of Baghachari Police Station, has confirmed that Chakma died in Dhaka in the early hours of today.

With this death, the death toll from the attack rose to eight.

Seven people, including two polling officials and four Ansar men, were shot dead in on March 18 during the upazila election in Baghaichhari.

Police filed a case against some 40 to 50 unidentified assailants with Rangamati's Baghaichhari Police Station in connection with the killings.
