Teesta doesn’t matter now: Minister
Foreign Minister AH Mahmood Ali today said that “there is so much on the plate during the prime minister’s India visit that Teesta does not matter now”.
Speaking at a press conference in the foreign ministry ahead of the much talked-about visit, the foreign minister said he had nothing more to say in this regard.

Regarding the defence deals to be signed with India, the foreign minister said: “You will all see when it is done. Nothing will be kept a secret, it will all be revealed.”
About the lineup of agreements and memos to be signed during the visit, the foreign minister said that these will “further deepen ties between India and Bangladesh”.

Following the visit, a high-powered business delegation from India will visit Bangladesh, the foreign minister said.
Additionally, Bangladesh will honour 1,661 Indian soldiers posthumously for their contribution during the 1971 Liberation War of Bangladesh.
