Teenage girl drowns

A physical challenged teenage girl drowned in a pond at Rail Colony in Sadar upazila of Habiganj district yesterday. The deceased is Rupa Akhter, 12, daughter of Gazi Abdul Karim of the area. Family members said Rupa went missing since morning. After a frantic search, locals rescued Rupa from the pond and sent her to Habiganj Sadar Adhunik Hospital where the on-duty doctor declared her dead, said Md Nazim Uddin, officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station.
