Six accused placed on 2-day remand in Pabna

A court here yesterday granted two days' remand for six arrestees in a case for killing three suspected abductors in Santhia upazila under the district.

They are Khokon Sardar, 32, Ahsan Habib Hasan, 25, Sujon Das, 18, Bishu Das, 27, Liton Das, 20, and Abu Bakar  Siddik, 16, of different villages in the upazila.

Judicial Magistrate AKM Rawshan Jahan passed the order when the six were produced before Pabna Cognizance Court-3 in the morning, seeking five days' remand, said Md Abul Kashem, investigation officer of the case.

On August 26, an angry mob beat the three to death on suspicion of kidnapping children in the upazila.

The victims are Md Alauddin Hossain alias Alal member, 52, Abu Bakar, 48, and Aslam Hossain, 50. They hailed from different districts.

Angry people chased the victims on suspicion of kidnapping children and beat them up mercilessly in front of a shop of C&B Chotur Bazar area in the upazila, said police.

Md Rana Hossain, brother of Alal, filed a case, accusing three thousand unidentified people of the area in this connection.

Police are raiding different areas to arrest the other accused, said the IO.
