One more worker dies at hospital
Another construction worker, who was injured in the cement factory warehouse disaster in Bagerhat on Thursday died at Jessore Combined Military Hospital (CMH) on Monday night.
With this, the death toll in the warehouse collapse rose to eight.
The deceased, Shah Ali alias Shihab, 50, son of Moksed Ali of Gourambha village in Rampal upazila of the district, was undergoing treatment at the hospital.
On Thursday, the 42-foot high under-construction building of Sena Kalyan Sangstha in Mongla of Bagerhat caved in around 1:00pm when around 90 workers were pouring concrete for the roof, leaving seven workers dead on the spot.
Jahangir Alam, deputy commissioner (DC) in Bagerhat, said 32 injured workers were admitted to Khulna Medical College Hospital after the incident on Thursday afternoon.
Of them, five, including Shihab were later shifted to Jessore CMH where he died around 12:00midnight.
Meanwhile, the body of another victim was handed over to his wife after she identified the body of her husband yesterday.
Ayasha Begum identified the body of Nur Mohammad, 25, son of late Momin Ullah of Noakhali Sadar upazila, said Manjur Elahi, sub-inspector of Mongla Police Station.
