Offices reopen after Eid holiday
After a three-day Eid vacation, the government, semi-government and private offices including banks and financial institutions reopened today.
The officials and employees exchanged Eid greetings with their colleagues amid a festive mood in different offices this morning.
Attendance of the officials and employees were thin at the Secretariat today as most of the staff went to their native villages during the Eid holiday, a senior official of the agricultural ministry told The Daily Star.
Besides, the rainy weather is an also one of the reasons for thin presence, the official added.
Only a few senior officials joined their office at the Secretariat and exchanged Eid greetings each other.
The city streets were seen almost empty with very low traffic movement as the city dwellers went to their village homes to celebrate the occasion with their near and dear ones.
The offices went into holiday on Friday for the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr across the country.
The normal schedule of office (9:00am to 5:00pm) has resumed today as it was curtailed during the month of Ramadan.
