Two people were killed in Pabna Sadar upazila in two separate incidents early today.
The deceased are identified as Hukum Ali Khan (65) and Majnu Mia (40), reports our local correspondent quoting police sources.
Unidentified miscreants called Hukum Ali out of his house at Varara Kha Para village, said Abu Sayeed, chairman of Varara Union Parshad.
They shot Hukum as soon as he came out of the house and fled. Hukum died on the spot, said the UP chairman.
Police recovered the body upon information, said Nasim Ahmed, officer-in-charge (OC) of Pabna Sadar Police Station.
"We are looking into the matter and a case is going to be filed in this regard soon," the OC added.
On the other hand, unknown miscreants hacked Majnu Mia to death in Madhupur village of the upazila.
Majnu was returning home after a card game in the area when miscreants attacked him from behind, said Shariful Islam, officer-in-charge of Ataikula Police Station.
Majnu died on the spot and miscreants fled the place. Police recovered the body and detained three people for interrogation in this regard, Shariful Islam also said.
