Uber, Pathao and Shohoz get BRTA certificate
Three major ridesharing service providing companies Uber, Pathao and Shohoz have got enlistment certificate from Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) to operate their service in the country.
Pathao Ltd got the certificate on Tuesday while Uber Bangladesh Ltd and Shohoz Ltd got the certificates today, Lokman Hossain Mollah, director (engineering) of BRTA, told The Daily Star.
“We had given them approval earlier. They were able to print enlistment certificates after providing documents of at least 100 vehicles -- a mandatory clause to get certificate,” he said.
With the three, total nine ridesharing companies received enlistment certificate so far.
The six companies are: Pickme Limited, Computer Network System Limited, Obhai Solution Ltd, Chaldal Ltd, Akash Technology Ltd and Segesta Ltd.
"As the largest on-demand digital platform in Bangladesh, we are grateful to accept the enlistment certificate from BRTA," said Hussain M Elius, CEO and co-founder of Pathao, through a press statement.
“The enlistment certificate is yet another step in our mission of transforming lives and our pursuit of a Digital Bangladesh,” he added.
