Tk 22cr scam: Dhaka Bank’s Dhanmondi branch vice president denied bail

The High Court today refused to grant bail to Dhaka Bank's Dhanmondi branch Vice President Md Aminul Islam in connection with a case filed on charge of misappropriating Tk 22 crore.

The court, however, adjourned the hearing on the bail petition of Aminul, who is now in jail, for a week after reopening the regular activities.

The HC bench of Justice Md Nazrul Islam Talukder passed the order after holding a virtual hearing on the petition.

Aminul cannot be released from jail following the HC order, Deputy Attorney General AKM Amin Uddin Manik told The Daily Star.

He said the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) filed the case with Dhanmondi Police Station on December 23, 2018 against Aminul and six others on change of misappropriating Tk 22 crore from the bank by submitting fake export bills through misusing powers.
