Man hacked to death in Madaripur

A man has been hacked to death in Rajor upazila of Madaripur.

The victim was identified as Sohel Howladar, 32, son of Abdul Khalek Howladar of the upazila, our Faridpur correspondent reports quoting police sources.

Sohel was attacked with sharp weapons by unidentified criminals at Majumdar bazar around 8:00pm last night, said Sahajahan Mia, officer-in-charge of Rajor Police Station.

Sohel was taken to Rajor Upazila Health Complex and later referred to Faridpur Medical College Hospital. He succumbed to his injuries on the way.

Police suspects, an extra-marital affair that led to long-standing feud between Sohel and Bazirpur Union Parishad Chairman Sirazul Islam might be connected to the murder.

The body has been sent to Madaripur General Hospital morgue for autopsy. No case was filed as of writing this report at 5:00pm today.
