Keraniganj fire: Murder case filed against factory owner, 10 others
A murder case was filed against the factory owner with South Keraniganj Police Station in connection with yesterday’s fire at a plastic factory in Keraniganj that claimed a total of 12 lives so far.
A younger brother of deceased, Alam, today lodged the murder case with the police station against the owner of the factory and 10 others, Shah Zaman, officer-in-charge (OC) of the police station, told The Daily Star.
Eleven employees including an engineer, who were severely burnt in the factory fire died at Dhaka Medical College Hospital today, taking the death toll to 12.
Among the injured, 11 people are on life support at Sheikh Hasina National Burn and Plastic Surgery Institute in Dhaka while eight others are undergoing treatment at the DMCH, said Nasir Uddin, assistant director of the hospital.
