A 30-year-old woman, who was diagnosed with dengue fever, died at Khulna Medical College Hospital (KMCH) early today.

Deceased Lovely Akhtar, wife of Zamir Ali of Baliadanga village in Keshabpur upazila of Jashore, breathed her last around 2:30am today.

KMCH Assistant Registrar Partha Protim Debnath told The Daily Star that Lovely Akhtar died of shock syndrome.

She was admitted to KMCH on Tuesday evening where she was diagnosed with dengue, Partha said.

Khulna’s Assistant Civil Surgeon Atiar Rahman Sheikh said 16 people including 10 women died of dengue in Khulna.
