The father of Stamford University student Rubaiyat Sharmin Rumpa, who was found dead in Dhaka on Wednesday night, today claimed that his daughter was murdered in a planned way.
“It is not believable that she could commit suicide. My daughter was killed in a planned way,” Rokan Uddin, father of Rumpa, told The Daily Star.
Rokan, who is also a police inspector stationed at Habiganj, said he suspected that some youths are behind the murder of his daughter and has already submitted some names to law enforcement agencies.
“We have never seen such attitude in my daughter by which we can say that she could have committed suicide,” Rokan said.
Twenty-two-year-old Rumpa, a second-year English student of the private university in Siddheshwari area, was found dead on an alley near the building on Wednesday night. Police learned about her identity the next day.
Investigators were working on these clues to crack the mystery surrounding the death of Rumpa.
Monirul Islam, officer-in-charge (OC) of Ramna Police Station, today said they were yet to unfold the mystery of Rumpa’s death.
“We are working considering it murder as a murder case was filed in connection with the incident with the police station,” the police official said.
The members of DB, Rab, PBI and other law enforcement agencies are also working to crack the mystery, he added.
