Muhith won’t contest in next general polls

Finance Minister AMA Muhith, who earlier this month placed his tenth budget for Bangladesh, said he will not participate in the next Jatiya Sangshad elections.

The minister disclosed the information while talking to reporters at the Secretariat following a meeting on development of Sylhet’s health sector.

He said that his younger brother AK Abdul Momen is preparing the ground for contesting the next general elections.

Muhith said, it waits to be seen if his brother (Momen) has the acceptability to stand for the elections. “The party (Awami League) will take decision accordingly,” he added.
