Missing ex-army man found dead

Police recovered the decomposed body of a missing retired army man from the Bairan River in Gopalpur upazila yesterday.

The deceased was Mohammad Shamim, 40, son of late Mohir Uddin of Bildoga village. He went missing five days ago, said locals.

The victim willingly retired from Bangladesh Army one and a half years ago when he was working in Chittagong Cantonment as a soldier, said police. His hands and legs were tied, police added.

They are investigating the matter, said Moksedul Alam, inspector of Gopalpur Police Station.
