Man found murdered

Police recovered the body of a 'missing' man from Pirganj municipality area of the district yesterday afternoon.

The deceased is Azim Uddin, 48, son of Nezam Uddin of Roghunathpur Munshipara village in the municipality. He was a worker of an insurance company.

Mokbul Hossain, officer-in-charge of Pirganj Police Station, said after receiving a phone call on March 10, Azim went out of house and did not return home since then.

At around 1:00pm yesterday, locals found his body in a graveyard and informed the police who sent it to Thakurgaon Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.

Criminals might have strangled Azim and dumped the body in the area, said the OC.

The law enforcers detained a woman, a co-worker of the deceased, for interrogation, he said.
