JSD seeks rescheduling president’s appointment
Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD) today applied for a fresh schedule on meeting President Abdul Hamid for discussing Election Commission reconstitution citing unavailability of their leader.
Shirin Akhter, general secretary of JSD, told The Daily Star that their leader Hasanul Huq Inu will be abroad to attend an OIC programme on December 22, the date given to JSD by the president.
She added that JSD will submit proposals for a strong and dynamic election commission.
The talks of the political parties with the president about reconstitution of the Election Commission ahead of the next national election are scheduled to start on December 18.
The BNP, which was invited to the talks on the first day, is likely to request the president to take the initiative to form an election-time government through discussions with political parties.
