IU evening courses end
The authorities of Islamic University, Kushtia ended the short-term evening postgraduate, certificate, diploma and other professional courses in the university yesterday.
The decision was made on Tuesday after voting by members of the Academic Council, the highest academic decision-making body of the university, according to the note officially circulated by the Registrar's Office yesterday. One hundred seventy four members, out of 180, voted for ending the courses.
Teachers, officers and students of the university expressed their thanks to the authorities for scrapping evening courses from the university.
The courses had been running in the university for around 18 years.
