Four garment workers died falling from the roof of a running intercity train after they were hit by an overhead girder at Raninagar upazila in Naogaon early today.
Two of the victims were identified as Aminul Islam, 30, of Malipur village under Sapahar upazila of Noagaon, and Zahangir Alam, 19, of Boro-Hakimpur-Daktarpara village under Chirirbandar upazila of Dinajpur.
Identities of rest of the deceased RMG workers could not be known immediately, our Dinajpur correspondent reports quoting police.
Police have recovered the bodies later in the morning, Akbar Hossain, officer-in-charge (OC) of Santahar Government Railway Police (GRP), told the correspondent.
Two more people were hurt in the incident and were taken to Naogaon Sadar Hospital.
The incident took place at Raninagar Railway Station around 4:00am when the passengers were travelling from Dhaka to Dinajpur on the roof of Drutojan Express train.
