An American was detained with a drone at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka early today.

The American was identified as Mark Rumam Kutrobskir, 22, according to his passport, said Moinul Khan, director of Customs Intelligence.

Mark came to Bangladesh via an Emirates airline on January 26. On primary quizzing, he admitted to have captured still images and videos of Bangladesh with the drone.

Custom intelligence officials are examining the memory card of this drone and the airport authorities have seized the drone for its potential “danger” to the airport security, Moinul added.

The American was heading off from Bangladesh when he was detained at the airport around 1:05am, he said.
