3 held with 2,200 illegal SIM cards in Mymensingh

Police detained three people along with over 2,200 illegal SIM cards and five VoIP equipment from Sankipara area in Mymensingh town last night.
The detainees are: Humayun Kabir, 26, and Ruhul Amin, 22 of Madarganj upazila in Jamalpur and Jahirul Islam, 22, of Ghatail upazila of Tangail district, Bangla daily Prothom Alo reports.
Acting on a tip-off, a police team raided the house of one Suruj Ali in Sankipara Nayan Moni Market area and recovered the noncertified biometric SIM cards, five VoIP equipment and a biometric machine, the report reads.
The detainees were taken to Mymensingh Kotwali Model Police Station for interrogation, the daily reports quoting officer-in-charge of the police station Kamrul Islam.
The seized SIM cards are of Grameenphone, Robi and Airtel mobile operators.
