25 injured in clash over land dispute

At least 25 people were injured in a clash between two rival groups over a land dispute at Radhapur village in Nabiganj upazila of Habiganj district yesterday.

Locals said there had been a long-standing dispute between Abdur Rahim and Nurul Islam of the village over a piece of land.

Rahim and Nurul locked in an altercation over the issue in the morning. Hearing the news, the supporters of the two, equipped with lethal weapons, rushed in and swooped on each other, leaving at least 25 people from both sides injured.

Of the injured, eight were admitted to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital while the rest to Nabiganj Upazila Health Complex and Habiganj Sadar Hospital.
