10 injured in Khagrachhari clash
At least 10 people were injured in a clash involving indigenous people, police, ansars and army men at Dighinala upazila in Khagrachhari today.
The clash took place around 12:15pm when the indigenous people were marching towards a battalion headquarters of Boarder Guard Bangladesh (BGB) demanding its removal.
Three army personnel and a policeman were among the injured, said Sheikh Mohammad Mizanur Rahman, superintendent of police (SP) in Khagrachhari.
Several hundred people under the banner of Dighinala Bhumi Rakhya Committee gathered in Babuchhara area at noon and tried to attack the headquarters, he added.
As the army men and police intercepted them in Karbarypara area, the agitators attacked the law enforcers, resulting in the clash, the SP told our local correspondent.
