10 cows looted from minister's farm

Robbers took away 10 cows from a dairy farm of Primary and Mass Education Minister Mostafizur Rahman in Phulbari upazila of Dinajpur early today.

The market value of the looted cows is around Tk 15 lakh, our Dinajpur correspondent reports quoting Officer-In-Charge of Phulbari Police Station Sheikh Nasim Habib.

Lokman Ali, caretaker of the farm located at Fakirpara on Dhaka-Dinajpur highway, said that a group of four robbers broke open the lock of the farm's entrance, tied his hands and legs around 2:00am.

They loaded 10 cows on a three-wheeler human hauler and fled the scene, he said.

On information, Minister Mostafizur, an Awami League lawmaker of Dinajpur-5 (Phulbari-Parbatipur) constituency, visited the farm around 4:00am.

Mostafizur was staying at his house in Phulbari town.
