Sector commander Abu Osman Chowdhury tests Covid-19 positive

Abu Osman Chowdhury, a sector commander during the Liberation War in 1971, tested positive for Covid-19 this afternoon.
He is now undergoing treatment at the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Dhaka, Haroon Habib, secretary general of the Sector Commanders' Forum (SCF), told The Daily Star tonight.
For all latest news, follow The Daily Star's Google News channel. Abu Osman, 85, who served as the commander of sector-8 during the Liberation War, is the vice-chairman of SCF.
Haroon said although Osman had been ill for a while, he used to take part in SCF's meeting before the Covid-19 pandemic.
Citing Osman's daughter Nasima Tariq, Haroon said the war hero was rushed to CMH this noon as his condition had deteriorated over the last two days.
