Contraband drugs worth Tk 25 lakh seized

Rapid Action Battalion members seized huge cache of contraband drugs worth Tk 25 lakh from Savar and arrested two people in this connection last night.

The arrestees are Tarek Hossain Mintu and Habibur Rahman, said Maksudul Alam, assistant director of Rab's Legal and Media Wing, at a press briefing today.

Rab-4 men recovered the drugs from a Dhaka-bound covered van from Jessore at Baish bus stand in Savar while they were conducting a search operation on the Dhaka-Aricha highway around 11:30pm last night, Maksudul Alam said.

The seized drugs include 58,000 tablets of Sangra (Viagra), 26,400 tablets of Makmolgra (Viagra), 988,000 tablets of Nimesulide, 258,400 tablets of Dichlopar M and 2,400,000 tablets of Dexamethasone.

The law enforcers also seized 398 pieces of Shaari and 60 bundles of cloth during the raid.
