Woman found slaughtered in Mirpur

Police have recovered the slaughtered body of an aged woman from a tin-shed house near Martyrs’ Graveyard in Dhaka’s Mirpur this evening.

The victim has been identified as Nurjahan Begum, 72, Farukul Islam, inspector (investigation) of Darussalam Police Station, told The Daily Star.

The woman used to live in the house alone, the inspector also said, adding that the body has been sent to Dhaka Medical College (DMC) morgue for autopsy.
