Seven men hurt in Ctg clash
At least seven persons were injured in a clash between two groups of locals at Khagaria in Satkania upazila of Chittagong yesterday.
The injured were rushed to different hospitals including Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH), said police.
Of them, three injured -- Shamsul Alam, 60, Md Forkan, 26, and Md Hanif, 32,-- were undergoing treatment at the hospital with hack injuries, said Nayek Jahangir Alam of CMCH Police Camp. There was a "prolonged dispute" between the two groups over pond ghat, graveyard and committee of a local mosque, said Farid Uddin Khondakar, officer-in-charge of Satkania police. Yesterday after the Jummah prayers, an altercation ensued between the groups centring around the issues and at one stage they locked into the clash with sharp weapons, added the OC.
