RO warns three Ctg councillor candidates for violations

The returning officer (RO) of Chittagong City Corporation polls warned three more councillor candidates against further violation of the electoral code of conduct, while 10 more aspirants withdrew their candidacy yesterday.

Nazmul Huq of Ward 24, Mizanur Rahman of Ward 39, and  Nur Minara Nargis of Ward 4 (Reserved Seat) were served show cause notices for breaking the electoral code earlier, said Assistant Returning Officer Md Shafiqur Rahman.

They replied to the notices yesterday while the RO cautioned them against further breach, said.

He added that 10 more councillor aspirants, including a woman for the reserved seat, withdrew their candidature yesterday.

On Tuesday, four councillor candidates withdrew candidacy, and four were warned against future violation of the code of conduct.
