N'ganj Jamaat chief, deputy held
Police yesterday arrested 13 leaders and activists of Jamaat-e-Islami allegedly for plotting subversive activities.
The arrestees include Narayanganj city Ameer Maulana Moinuddin Ahmed and general secretary Abdul Quaium, said Fatullah Police Station Officer-in-Charge Kamal Uddin.
On information that a group of Jamaat men were holding a clandestine meeting, police raided the Ameer's Fatullah house and arrested them, he said.
A large number of leaflets, books and banners were also seized from them, he added.
