Youth hurt by stray bullet in city

A young man sustained injuries being struck by a stray bullet in the city's Elephant Road area of Dhaka last night.

The victim was identified as Moinuddin, 18, son of Harun Bhandari, a resident of medical staff quarter in the area.

Abdur Rahman, assistant sub-inspector of Dhaka Medical College Hospital police camp, said Moinuddin sustained injures being hit by a stray bullet around 11:00pm while he was chatting with his friends near Eastern Mollika Shopping Centre.

He was admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital around 12:30 am, the police official said.

He sustained injuries in his left elbow, he said.

However, it couldn't be ascertained from where the bullet came, he added.
