TIB greets new ACC boss

Transparency International Bangladesh yesterday congratulated newly appointed Chairman of Anti Corruption Commission Iqbal Mahmud and its commissioner AFM Aminul Islam.

TIB Executive Director Iftekharuzzaman, in a statement, hoped that the reconstituted leadership of the commission will succeed in playing its legally determined roles irrespective of all kinds of influence, fear and pity. He said the uncompromising role of ACC is essential to discharge its duties as an effective, independent and neutral institution, and therefore, it is the government's inevitable responsibility to create a suitable environment for this purpose.
